the bag

and annabelle. not her most gorgeous picture. when i grab the camera she comes toward me to check it out. weird moment in time, but that is the little nylon bag my stuff fits in which is then put in a backpack and toted around.

the take-along journal contents

this is the stuff i don't leave home without. it is all packed in a little blue nylon bag that was part of a gift with purchase from estee lauder about a million years ago. this is the kit i use for the writing part. my pages are painted and decorated, usually, before i write in them, so when i sit down to actually journal, this is what i dig into for pens and stuff. there is a small 6 inch ruler in case i need to make a straight line, and a little stapler with gold staples in case something comes my way and must be inserted, the thing in the bottom left is my date stamp. i always date my entries with month/day/year/time/day of the week. actually that is my ONLY journal rule. it MUST be dated. PERIOD. there are no other rules i follow.

my art space

and finally, the bead corner. uh, mostly.

my art space

paper bins again with paper stacked on top. the next stacking drawers are the embossing powder and paint drawers. fan for keeping cool here in arizona. beading thread that needs to be wound on smaller bobbins...

my art space

the turning of the corner. my double and triple stacked stuff. paper cutters, scrap basket, kleenex, painting in progress, boombox for music or audio books, clock so i know how much time i am spending having fun. the stacked drawers are full of paper sorted by color families and one next to it has clippings sorted by things like words, people, animals, flowers, stuff... stuff is actually a category, it includes objects that do not have enough pictures to require their own drawer.

my art space

moving to the right we have the actual workspace which has some inprocess stuff on it. teesha moore collage sheets on the wall for inspiration, pens, rulers, water containers, some stamps that have never made it into the stamp boxes, my wipe stuff off towel.

my art space

and now a tour of my messy, but functional art space. i have loads of fun here.
starting at the left most edge of the corner i have my tables set up in. there we have drawers full of fun stuff. glues, metal stuff, stickers, brads, sheesh, everything.

Jo's VanGogh calendar journal May

you know, along the lines of, "if a tree falls in the forest and nobody hears it, does it make a sound?" something like that.

Using my amazing powers of poetic (or, i suppose, artistic) license, i put some paper on here that are sort of wheat-ish. this painting is called something and wheat. sorry vincent.

VanGogh's stars got caught in this tree. i got a chance to use my spider writers. i have not used them in about forever. i wonder if i will be able to get any new ones when these die off. Traci Bautista uses them a lot.

The stuff left in the car after the vacation... well, there were food wrappers, but nothing you would want in your scrapbook.
