something i came up with for a chunky oddities book a couple of years ago. this is my if da vinci had been a woman clothing designer series. i guess we are still in the da vinci book.

some wings i got when i was in germany from 2002 through 2005. they have some really cool stuff over there. this was some beautiful paper i scored in a swap, i put the enamel stickers in the corners, added some lines and let the wings have center stage, because really, are wings EVER a bit player? i think not.

due to the order in the cue of pictures, i think this was either the da vinci book or the one that came after it. note to self: take better notes and such for this year's round robin of calendars. sheesh

more da vinci. i used little square ink pads to stamp up the background, journaled, and added one of my transparencies. the transparencies were google images printed on my home printer and cut to size. i just buy the transparencies at either staples or wal mart. love them!

aaahhh. the da vinci calendar. man, i love da vinci! i just put some transparencies over the page that was in the book with some of his schematics on it. i just could not try to pit my art against his, you know?

atc's done for a swap with danielle a group and actual friend.

technique postcard for letterheads swap. i googled orange and yellow and this came up. i tore the edges, scraped paint on a 4x6 postcard, did some gold leaf dots and some white highlighting and gloss gel mediumed over the whole thing. i like it. it is so bright.

the tuscany book put me in the mind of gypsys and this is a poem i found when googling.

i did a page using the name of the color on the paint swatch. overstamp inked scrap paper and some embellishments

tuscany calendar. playing with lined paper and some overstamped images. minimalist journaling

some paperweaving, some blow pens, some paper doll action and what do you get? a party on a page. i left the flaggy things hanging off the edge of the page. i like this one. it is a happy page in my opinion. this and the preceeding three are all part of the may calendargirlz effort. hope donna likes these pages. danielle is going to guest artist in this month's pages and maybe from here on out. she will join the group next year for the 2008 go round.

i don't know why, but lately i have been drawn to doing collages of childlike houses and trees. there is also a parrot with a human eye in this one. liking the birds with human eyes these days, too. in temple city, where i spent a few childhood years there were wild parrots. they were so cool, so colorful, and very noisy when they all flocked together in a tree to chat. it was a really neat thing to experience as a kid.

the second page of the spread.

The may contribution to calendargirlz. this was a blank calendar with absolutely NO picture to work with. one of the prompts for this month was, "it's all about..." i don't know where it came from, but WORDS was what came to mind to fill in the blank. so i just sort of free-associated things and sayings about words. this is the first page of the two page spread i did with this theme.

front cover of the journal for victoria. this one definitely looks better in real life than the picture shows here. eek. well, i know it looks better even if you have to take my word for it.

back cover of a journal for a swap with letterheads. this one was/is for victoria. i just felt that she could use some calming and some words of wisdom. or something like that! hope she likes it.

this is the picture from the April Calendargirlz journal i got. i like the picture very much, but did not really know how to do anything to it. i try to do at least one journaling type page in each months offerings. this is it. just tried to keep the circle/primary color thing going on it.

april Calendargirlz book. i was just fooling around with blobs of gold leaf and a flower stamp. the picture of the girl and the words are from an ad i saved from somewhen or other. it is cool how the pink flower showed through the canvas the girl is holding. that was not something i planned, just a serendipitous result of gluing.

another spread in the April Calendargirlz book.

vingatey page in the April Calendargirlz book. this book did not have many pictures to work with so i was feeling vintage and did this page.
