some paperweaving, some blow pens, some paper doll action and what do you get? a party on a page. i left the flaggy things hanging off the edge of the page. i like this one. it is a happy page in my opinion. this and the preceeding three are all part of the may calendargirlz effort. hope donna likes these pages. danielle is going to guest artist in this month's pages and maybe from here on out. she will join the group next year for the 2008 go round.
i don't know why, but lately i have been drawn to doing collages of childlike houses and trees. there is also a parrot with a human eye in this one. liking the birds with human eyes these days, too. in temple city, where i spent a few childhood years there were wild parrots. they were so cool, so colorful, and very noisy when they all flocked together in a tree to chat. it was a really neat thing to experience as a kid.
The may contribution to calendargirlz. this was a blank calendar with absolutely NO picture to work with. one of the prompts for this month was, "it's all about..." i don't know where it came from, but WORDS was what came to mind to fill in the blank. so i just sort of free-associated things and sayings about words. this is the first page of the two page spread i did with this theme.
april Calendargirlz book. i was just fooling around with blobs of gold leaf and a flower stamp. the picture of the girl and the words are from an ad i saved from somewhen or other. it is cool how the pink flower showed through the canvas the girl is holding. that was not something i planned, just a serendipitous result of gluing.
