Lizabeth's Gaudi calendar

page ten. i watercolored the black areas and then used water soluble portfolio crayons to color the shapes and then i added some journaling and some stamping. this one is cooler in person. more vibrant and the watercolor part looks really cool.

page eight. i painted the sky a little bit to lighten it up and when i saw the stairs i just knew it had to be the setting for a really cool fashion show. this was very fun!

page seven. i loooooove this page. i am quite proud of it and i hope Lizabeth likes it because i sure wanted to keep it. i used a piece of velum and a charcoal pencil to trace the shapes of the image on page eight then turned the velum pencil-side down and rubbed it to transfer the lines. then i watercolored it and put on the pieces of papyrus-like paper and the dress forms.

page six. i was playing with gesso techniques on this one. i painted on the gesso and then scratched words into three sides of the page and the squiggly border for the journaling. after it dried i put some paint and some ink wash on it for color. it is prettier in person than in this picture.

page five. i just took some sandpaper to the sky and the black railing area. the texture from the corrugated paper on page three showed up on the upper left side when i sanded.

page three. i put some funky textured materials on a page i had covered with masking tape for fun. to sort of look like building materials or something. then i journaled about what a house would have in the design if i designed it myself and printed it out on a transparency sheet and stapled it on the page.
